Photo Exporting as BMP with options selected
The software that I use my GIMP images for requires that I export a bmp with the settings in the attached screenshot. I have two questions:

Is there a preset somewhere or perhaps an image type that I can select that will always export bitmaps with the Do not write color space information checked and 24bit R8 G8 B8 radio button selected?

Is there a way I can script this to be done as part of a python script?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

These are the only image choices I have available.

These are the export options I need for my image to be visible in the software, I have to select these options every single time I do an export.

I don't see the screenshot, you forgot to click "add attachment".

Maybe after seeing the screenshot I or someone else can better asses your bmp preset query.
In the meantime, maybe these are what you're looking for?
Most of the toolbox have a preset save feature at the bottom:

I'll reply back if I'm still on tonight (I maybe signing off soon, no rush to reply)

*on a side note: bitmaps are usually large in file size even at lower bit-rates, not really optimal for web use. A better compression vs. quality alternate is .PNG or .JPEG with a best quality interpolation.

RE: Exporting as BMP with options selected
Playing around yesterday with some old scripts, trying to find something that might work. Looking at the procedure 'file-bmp-save' switches, there does not seem any provision for enabling the do-not-save-color-information option. You can turn the dialog on and off which is no better than using the regular export menu.

For just the occasional file, is it so arduous (discounting the annoyance factor) to tick the box?

If you have lots of images then AFAIK as previous post maybe look at a batch converter.
A quick test using file size as the guide ('without' is a little smaller than 'with'). XNVIewMP will batch convert bmp -> bmp (to a different folder) and the default there is 'without' color info. Bound to be other ways, just a matter of finding one.

RE: Exporting as BMP with options selected
Not a lot of options with the Gimp procedure,

IM is a possibility, already looked at that, assumed OP is not too keen on command line.

Two files exported from Gimp

with.bmp 944,190 B
without.bmp 944,106 B

The IM command
convert with.bmp BMP3:new.bmp
produces 'new.bmp' with the 944,106 B file size.
