Equal intensity
Is it possible in GIMP to equalize the intensity of different picuters? So that the pictures have the same brightness and that the color curves (histogram) are identical?

You can't really make the histogram equal. Think of pictures taken on a glacier and in a coal mine...

The histogram window will otherwise display, besides the histogram, several measures (mean and median value, percentile) and recompute them in real time if you alter the images with the Brightness/Contrast, Levels or Curves tools, so you can play with these to change one of these values until it matches the same in your target picture.
