Enqueue in GIMP, open only when the former file has been closed
Hi everybody! I need to edit several video frames in order to blur someone's face in the video and it would be useful to "enqueue" files. What I would like to obtain is that when I have edited, saved and closed image1, GIMP would automatically open image2 and so on... hope you understand, my English is a bit poor. Thank you in advance

That's something easy to do with a script...

On the other hand, if the face to blur is always at the same place, something like ImageMagick's convert will be a lot more efficient.

Seriously, using Gimp for batch work can only be justified for complicated processing where the whole power of Gimp is useful. Most simple processing (such as blurring part of an image) is better done with ImageMagick if it must be repeated over several pictures.

Now, what you really need is some video editing software...

Yes, but you said that ImageMagick is useful only if the subject whose face must be blurred doesn't move, and my subject does. I could use Cinelerra, but it's too complicated for me. I need a frame by frame editor and the best way to do that is to extract all the frames as jpeg files - using ffmpeg, then blur the face, then recreate the file with ffmpeg again. It would just have been useful to have a new image open when I'm finished with the former Smile Thank you!

With the right setup if you file navigator, you can start Gimp by double-clicking (or even single-clicking) the file. You can also drag/drop on a running Gimp instance. Then that would be Ctrl-S+Ctrl-W in Gimp to save/close previous, followed by double-click in Navigator (or drag/drop) to feed the next image in Gimp.

An old French proverb says that if you haven't got brains, you need good legs. Nowadays, if you aren't a computer expert you need good fingers Smile
