DPI resolution issue with png export
If I open a jpg with a 72.000 dpi image in Gimp, remove background and save as a transparent png, the next time I open the transparent png in Gimp the dpi is 72.009! and if the jpg has a dpi of 150 it becomes 150.012 dpi in the png when I next open in in Gimp!

why is Gimp slightly changing the dpi resolution in my png files???

A better question would be why is this an issue?

-Make sure you didn't resize the X & Y before you saved
Unless a program, comany or printer specifically needs you to have your photos at EXACTLY 72 dpi or 150 dpi, I wouldn't worry about it.

I tested it and it does change when you change the size(on top of the X & Y res) back and forth, maybe its a small bug, doesn't really affect average workflow.

When you start a new document, click Advanced options & change both X & Y resolution to either both 72, or 150.

*Keep in mind that if you change the canvas size, when you save it, the dpi may change.
