Diamond and gold text effect
I would like to create this diamond/gold text effect. How do I accomplish that in Gimp:

Thanks!

RE: Diamond and gold text effect
Might be possible in Gimp, but truthfully the answer is in file name. bling-bling-word-vector.jpg

It come from a vector drawing application, probably something very expensive from Ad*be

You might get there using freeware Inkscape, but it will be increadably tedious. This one not gold but chrome and using a tiny 'bead'.

Totally lost interest after 10 minutes, surprised I lasted that long.

However, the web site it comes from is very interesting. Tongue

RE: Diamond and gold text effect
The above chrome tutorial would work great with this Smile
I've tested with making a custom brush / spacing in the past, not difficult, so I imagined this is the way I would do it.

First make a black background layer Bucketfill bucket fill or "Layer > New Layer Foreground color(black)"
1. Create a custom brush either clipboard or save
- Copy just one of the diamonds with Ellipseselect ellipse select tool
- Click Paintbrush paintbrush tool
- Select brush (top-right one in gallery, see pic #1)
(If you open the brush dialog window/tab, you can change the spacing of the brush
- To save as a custom brush "Edit > Paste as... > New Brush" , name it, click ok
2. Pick white, Type text, big enough size font, wide enough to fit diamonds
3. Create a new "transparent" layer, name it "diamond brush"
4. Use Path path tool for one letter, or all if in cursive(quicker)
5. After you draw the path (drag for curves, click for points)
Click "stroke path" & pick "()stroke with a paint tool"

6. Next, Duplicate the "diamond brush" layer & the black background layer
- Put the copied black layer under the "diamond brush copy"
-merge "diamond copy" down (right-click > merge down)
- Filters > Light and Shadow > Sparkle
See pic #3 for average/good settings.

I turned down the opacity on the text layer so you could see the paths. You can add color using colorize "Colors > Colorize..."
Pull down the lightness slider for the color to show, then "Hue", saturation slider will make the color more stronger(pull to right)
(click images for full size, quick load)
1.     2 .
3.
My result:
(below thumbnail doesn't do the end result justice, full size photo shows sparkle/shine)

RE: Diamond and gold text effect
The gold effect can be found in various tutorials.

Diamonds available in text format seems to be the challenge here.
One option is the G'MIC - Pack Sprites
Maybe with a correct fit, he can produce something like the image in the first post.
Here's a quick attempt to illustrate something easy to achieve with this filter.

RE: Diamond and gold text effect
Thx iForStyle007
I just tried to apply another technique to get the result of the first image.
I did not think to create anything. Blush
I don't know well that filter I used, but I think if I tried, I could actually get something very similar.
The point was to show that option (pack sprites). Idea
