Deviantart
I see a lot of posts and links to Devianart here on the Forums. How do you download any of the art or brushes from there? When I go there, I never see anykind of download link. Whats the scoop? Looks to be some pretty cool stuff there I woul like to work with.

Thanks.

RE: Deviantart
Sometimes the artist wants you to link back to their page when you use any of their work/brushes so be sure to read the info under the pic/brushes before you download.

For example, here are some cool organic brushes, free to use
http://the-gimp.deviantart.com/art/Organ...-389666248

*Be cautious though, there are ad based download buttons near the actual, look at the bottom of your browser (status bar) when you hover your mouse over the download, it should have deviantart.com.... in it near the start of the URL, if its something else, don't click it.

Should be a simple button that says download, sometimes as a .zip or .exe
Unless your running linux, safety first, scan your files after you download them.

Happy gimping ^_^

RE: Deviantart
Thanks. That helped. Now I know where to look. I saw the download button before, but it is in an area where it usually refers to something else.

I have the brushes you sent downloaded now, but, (I know this may sound lame but I am new to this), How do I get them into GIMP? I looked into the Brushes dialog and only the orginal came up.

Trying to get the hang of this, But I love it.

Hmm, I searched the forums, link courtesy of neiilley: http://mygimptutorial.com/how-to-install-gimp-brushes

Try that link, I don't remember if I installed brushes before, I think I did some grunge-type font/brushes but that was a while back.

I usually try to mimic a brush I need through filters or custom brush settings/creating.

So goodlluck installing them ^_^
