{sniff} I just tried it, but there's no slot for "save color values from transparent pixels". Please see screenshot appended. I am export-saving the images in png format.

EDIT: Oh, duhhh, I shouldn't be doing this sort of thing in the wee hours of the a.m. when I should be going to bed: as you will have noticed, the transparency thingy was NOT ticked (which was why I didn't even see it, sigh), so evidently that was not the problem after all. I'm wondering if it's simply a jinxed computer. Sad

Probably you have an image without transparency (aka alpha channel)
Maybe you flattened the image or maybe it is the image you saved from Paint.

ROTFL! LMTO! Well, I have a lot more reason to feel that way, since I'm stuck in the sandbox, GIMP-wise, whereas you lucky person are Ph.D. level GIMP-savvy. Smile

Thanx again for everybody's attempts to help. {thumbs up}

RE: Cutout will not transfer properly
Ms paint, ughh, its such a limited program, but its great for painting...to an extent.

There isn't "TRUE" transparency or layers in MS Paint, you can only work only move & edit one layer and once you move to the new layer or release the selection, it gets flattened.

So any image that you have squashed under your new layer, when you want to move it, you can only move or size what is visible :\

The transparency in MS paint is when you click the option on the selection tool and its very temporary.
