cut a photo
I want to remove all but a rectangular area from an image. I do not want to make the rest of the image white, I want it to go away. I want to just have the rectangular image pixels left.
To be explicit, I want it to be like I cut up a photo, and threw the outside away. I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you

RE: cut a photo
Two ways:

1) use rectangular selection, and then Image/Crop to selection

2) (better) use the Crop tool. Click/Drag across image to set rectangle, adjust edges to your liking, click around center.

Save the picture under another name to keep the original intact.
