Corsiva Hebrew
Hello,

I wonder whether you could help me.
I am trying to use the 'Corsiva Hebrew' font on my mac (osx 10.5 - gimp 2.6.8) without any luck. The font works in other software like openOffice for instance.
thank you and and all the best, K

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
What is a font that "doesn't work"? Doesn't show up in list? renders improperly? has missing characters?

sorry, you're right.

It is in the list in the pop-up menu, but when I click on the font name, the font in my drawing doesn't change [renders improperly?]. I just realized, there are a few more fonts which 'don't seem to work', not just 'corsiva hebrew'.

any idea? thanks for your reply, K

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
hmm... I followed the instructions (used Terminal) and then Gimp didn't want to start anymore.

Updated a new version of Gimp and X11 still the same.
(When clicking on Gimp icon, I don't see the logo with the loading any more. In the dock I see Gimp and X11 though.

any ideas?
best, K

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
Remove your Gimp profile and start over. Unfortunately, I don't know where the Gimp profile is kept on OSX. On Linux it is in /home/{userid}/.gimp-2.6

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
hi, font the profile, removed it (and uninstalled x11 as well as Gimp) = still the same.
Could it be that I changed something with the font folders when I used the terminal with these commands:

mkdir ~/.fonts
ln -s /Library/Fonts ~/.fonts/sys
ln -s ~/Library/Fonts ~/.fonts/user

it's from 2004 so it might not be relevant anymore.
all the best, K

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
Maybe. You can clean that up with "rm ~/.fonts/sys" and "rm ~/.fonts/user".

RE: Corsiva Hebrew
hoho, it works now. I didn't quit the (properly not running) applications (gimp and x11) and waited a few minutes. It loaded up, after I quit them again and clicked on gimp it loaded like normal. thanks, K
