Copying Text Without Background
Hello...
I'm having a major problem trying to do something that looks on the face of it quite simple. Undecided

Basically, I'm trying to extract the text from the attachment showing below so that I can transfer it somewhere else.
I seem to be getting stuck on the "Path from Text" part, I'm using it, but nothing happens. Do I need to be using the Path tool for all of the letters individually? Sorry if this is a dumb Q...but I've spent ages trying to sort this out.....Driving me bonkers. I'm using GIMP 2.8 BTW...any help would be greatly appreciated.. preferably a 'walk through' please

RE: Copying Text Without Background
Hi Ofnuts..
Thanks for the quick response and time in replying. OK, no problem, I'll give it a go. No wonder I couldn't get it to work. Another way I s'ppose could be by making the background 'invisible' and then just moving the text? That might be a long shot though. I need to get this right or my re-paint will be useless :-(

After I posted this Q, I did a DL of your 'Text Along' App. Looks really good. Just going to get used to using it now. Thanks for that.
Best Wishes
