Copy paste but no data - fuzzy
I've selected some letters with the Fuzzy tool but when I copy and paste in a new layer all I got is a transparent selection in the format of the letters but without the letters themself. What am I doing wrong? thanks

RE: Copy paste but no data - fuzzy
Ok I've found out myself, actually the image is pretty big and I was working with zoom in the region of selection, the program was pasting in the very left top, that's I've got no content, it was there. Is there a way to past automatically in the same place as the selection?

RE: Copy paste but no data - fuzzy
It is the default. I have been doing that this morning on this one.

Just make sure if you have several layers you are working on the relevant layer.

make your selection check you are on the correct layer
Copy it, Edit -> Copy or ctrl-c it should appear in the brushes clipboard.
If you need to move to a different layer
Paste it Edit -> Paste or ctrl-v
It appears in the layers dialog as a floating selection.
Depending where you are and what you want to do, either anchor it or move it then anchor it.

There is a script that adds a menu option in the Edit->Paste As menu.
'Paste as a new centered layer.'
That is what I use when I want to avoid the floating layer and to paste it to the same location as it as selected from...

I am a newbie and the others are expert but...

I use "Paste Into" Shift+V and it pastes into the same area on the other selected layer. But you cannot move it after that though.

And if you want to paste and be able to move around with the Move tool, then you
just "Paste". Ctrl+V
