Coordinates report script, exists ? (for graphics apps development) (Kutt/Kwiskher)
Hi everybody, first of all i want to say thanks to all the developers that made this wonderful program and all the people that helps the others in this forum.

I'm starting to learning Corona sdk to develop applications, i'm a beginner in programation and i'm disgraciately not able to use the Script fu console, also if i will like to learn it when i'll have time.

My question is if somebody know the existance of a script that exports in a text file a report with the coordinates of all the layers, like KUTT.

for example i would open some png files and use them like layers; then i would create a txt or html file with the coordinates of the corners of all the layers (maybe with the cente xy also!) es:
the witdh and the height of the layers can be calculated after with delt...a or maybe can be included in the report!

"dir/image1.png" , x1,y1,x2,y2,x3,y3,x4,y4, xC,yC, W , H (alpha?)
---
"dir/image2.png" , x1,y1,x2,y2,x3,y3,x4,y4, xC,yC, W , H (alpha?)
---
"dir/image3.png" , x1,y1,x2,y2,x3,y3,x4,y4, xC,yC, W , H (alpha?)

ecc.. Does somebody understand?
i thank you in advance
gigi

I don't know about any such script, but that would be absolutely trivial to write in Python.

Not wanting to be a wet blanket or anything, but you don't learn a SDK. A SDK is a tool that you use after you learned programming elsewhere. The SDK only makes it easier to produce code, but producing actual code is 15-20% of the work. Over 50% of the programming activity is figuring out what code to produce and the SDK won't help for this. If you were making wood chairs, you would have a very precise idea of the chair and of the pieces of wood you need before doing the first cut. The SDK is just a power saw that replace the more traditional handsaw. It won't make the chair for you, despite what the glossies say.

Hi thank you for repling! I'm sorry because i don't have a good english, about the SDK i understand that you must know what are you doing. I understood the meaning of an iterator some days ago and i was too happy, also for the things (few for now) that i can do with it. It's like if i'm starting with an industrial machine instead of the bradhawl... But i was thinking that was better to start with a simple language and then analyze for what it means. Maybe you are thinking "its like to read a book from the end"... But i like this approach. I decided to follow a base-course and now i'm in the shit just cause everybody use photoshp, and i paid for the course. I was thinking there was a similar script for gimp cause me too i was thinking that it should be simple to make, and usefull! If anybody could help me i'll be very happy!

It's simple to write if you can code.

The doc of the python interface: http://www.gimp.org/docs/python/index.html

Layers objects have an "offsets" attribute as well as width and height ones.

Some sample python scripts: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-too...s/scripts/ (doc here: http://gimp-tools.sourceforge.net/ ). See autocrop-linked-layers.py for an example of iterating the layers in an image.

Oooook......... I dont know nothing about python.... I cant create one script in less than one week...
In fact i dont want to create a image with the script, if this is the scope of gimp-python; i think should be "easy" to read the offset, weight and height of all the layers... But i dont have any idea to how to read them with python language... Also after i'm lost. I should tell to create a text file with the parameters... i'm not able.. let fall.. I think i'll try to use photosht in trial mode... And when i will learn a little of python i'll try to do this script... Ciao Ofnuts thank you for your suggestions
