Comodo Firewall & Gimp do not get along
Comodo Firewall was just installed two days ago so I can block a program from accessing the internet. now Comodo hates it when I use a script or plug in in Gimp. when I go to use one, Comodo blocks Gimp from using it saying it's an unknown file accessing a safe program. it asks me if I wanna allow it, but by the time I click 'allow' Gimp already results in a crash due to the block!!! this is does EVERY TIME I use a plug in or script for the first time since installing comodo firewall!!! I have a lot so it crashes quite a bit before I can allow them all!!! what can I do to fix them all at once???

RE: Comodo Firewall & Gimp do not get along
One way is

Do not use an internet connection.

example

For video editing / DVD authoring I still use a WinXp machine. It has never been connected to my local network much less the internet. Dual boots with linux which is connected.

MR , just look at these reviews, it may sway you to rethink using it:
*scroll towards the bottom of the page
"...Nothing works well, it runs hellishly slow on my quad core with 8GB ram."

I think you might be better off with windows built in firewall (with some adjusting)

or another brand, avast & avg are good ones, MSE is nice too for xp very light on resources.
For online scanners trend micro had/has a good one also:
http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-anti-virus-scan

For additional cleaning (if you suspect your infected) get malwarebytes (anti-malware strongly recommend!)
- use this as an on-demand scanner only, not real-time as it may use up resources.

Moral: research the reviews for the firewall / anti-virus that you're installing before you install it.
