Colouring Images with images

Colouring Images with images
Hi Guys,

I am trying to use a picture to colour some text. The problem is that the text comes in the form of an image. So basically take the outline of the text and fill it with the picture. I am so confused with layers can anyone help me!?

I think you are looking at your problem the wrong way. What you want is stamp out your image with the shape of your text... so, basically:

- create a selection from your original text (alpha to selection if you have text on transparent background)
- move to layer with image
- invert selection (everything selected, but the text)
- delete key: you're left with your text, the rest of the image is transparent:
