Colors disappeared(invisible)
Hi, i have been working on a drawing for a longt time now, but suddenly got a problem with a layer where the colors went "invisible" somehow.(it happened when the cintiq went mad somehow and i had do restart the computer). In that process i think some options in gimp made the colors go invisible.

When im using the color selectorColorpicker i can then see that there are different colors there witch i have used. I have checked that the layer is visible(the eye is on), but i cant figure how to get the colors back. I really hope someone can help me with this, thank you!!!

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
First check the layer mode

Depends on the colours in the layers.
Starting off with this in normal mode: http://i.imgur.com/8byi6wg.jpg

In grain-extract I can lose a colour: http://i.imgur.com/FSnqDVw.jpg

In subtract I can lose more: http://i.imgur.com/55lQwR3.jpg

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
From that screenshot all you have is a floating selection over a white background.

What happens if you put that to a new layer

yeah, i copied the other picture in the background and pasted it on the where you see the "white". when i put the color selection on the white background i can then see the colors witch are supposed to be on the other picture (the same also happens when i put the color selection on the colored picture that ill see the colors witch i have used)
Im sorry if i just messed things more things upUndecided

No problem, I confuse easily Wink

Ofnuts suggestion is most probable. With your setup you will have to go into Windows menu -> dockable dialogs -> Channels

Even if the alpha channel is off will make everything disappear

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
I selected the "fence-layer" and went to the channel menu and everything where on.
But it seems like when i turn one of the channels off, it efffects everything(all layers color disapear) so somehow i cant chose that layer for editing it in the channel
(can select it otherwise).(maybe thats how its suppose to be, im not sure).

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
the layers aint merged, and the active layer (witch are the fence-layer) are chosen, i can then see the colors used with the colorpicker, but cant see the colors directly on the picture. seems like the cintiq messed something good up here.. or it might just be me who has no idea what to do(probably).

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
I did now try the color picker on the main picture witch was taken with the camera, and then switched over to the fence layer, even on some of the green parts near the fence itself i have drawn brown acording to the color picker. Did also try with "Gjennomsnitt"-box this time and it seems it is darker on the fence-layer than it is on the original picture(used darker colors on the fence-layer).
If something happened with the program itself when the cintiq lost some controll and this might be something witch cant be fixed, it is maybe bether if i just draw the layer from scratch again.?

RE: Colors disappeared(invisible)
When there where a background and pasted the picture i could see colors with the color picker, but as soon as i anchored the picture i could not find the colors with the color picker.
I then deleted the backgroun and was able to use the copy/paste alone on the picture so the colors should be there now(but cant see them, exept color picker can).
Thank you for all the time and help you have done! greatly appriciate it!
(And yea its probably something im doing wrong... but have no idea.)
