Coloring completely?
Here is the original image I want to edit:

Here is my edit:

As you can see, there's still remnants of white around the font and the edges of the deck which I'd like to get purple. My normal method is to use the Color Select, take the Paint Bucket, and dump the color, using the brush for anything missed.

Is there a convenient way to resolve this and retain the image without altering (i.e. cropping) or going pixel-by-pixel?

RE: Coloring completely?
Thank you, that really helped.

However, I'm having trouble with the coloring being off for a more complicated edit.

Here's an example:

-If you look carefully, the purple is off on the left side around the font and helmet; you can see where I Brushed in the black font from step 4.

What I'm doing exactly:
1 Select the left section of the deck (top and bottom included) with the Box Select tool
2 Color to Alpha and get rid of the black coloring
3 Colorify and turn the white to purple
4 Then I choose black, select the Paintbrush tool, put it in Behind mode and fill in just the font.
5 I select the right part of the deck, invert, and color the white to alpha.
6 Color select the purple, Paintbrush the font purple

Is there a convenient way to avert this?

RE: Coloring completely?
Even quicker way for "two-tone/colors
the other tone being black.

You can even bypass the bucket fill

Colors > Colorify

- If the color isn't there click the box next to "Custom Color:" choose a color
-click ok.

my above reply was to your original image,

with your original (white & black, before you did the color to alpha...)
try just the Colors > colorify I mentioned,
Then do the half color thing you did in your last post & see if the purple still bleeds around the letters on the left side.
