Color profiles
A friend who is new to gimp asked if gimp can recognize epson printer color profiles? He told me that when he uses photoshop, it allows him to choose papers and color settings? Can gimp do the same thing?

Thanks in advance.

your printer shouldn't have any problem printing. But if you run into size problems(printing too small) check this thread:

To answer your question specifically, when you click File > Page Setup... it should bring up the options to change paper/sizes and when you click File > Print... by default it should bring up your printer prompt/window.

Hope it works ^_^ !

P.S. It will also help us research [if needed] to know what version of Gimp your using and what operating system

RE: Color profiles
You will find that printer colour management in Windows, using colour profiles, has very little to do with Gimp and everything to do with the printer driver that comes with your printer.
Gimp does not normally print direct to the printer, the data is passed to the printer software.

Have not had an Epson printer in 12 years but typical of the dialog seen in control panel -> printers.
Not the best of screenshots but you can also get there as stated in the previous post
File -> Page Setup -> Printer -> Properties which gets to the same place.

Not a bad explanation here.

Note the paragraph on "Finding the WRONG profile!"

Slightly different in Linux where third party software such as TurboPrint will allow setting a profile from an all-in-one Gimp dialog.
