Circle blend
Hi!

About a year ago I created this picture using gimp (ignore the text) [Image: gymnasiekurser-aktuellt1.jpg].

My problem is that I have completely forgotten how I did it and now I need to know how.

So does anyone know how to create the blend effect in the upper right of the circle (again don't worry about the text)?

RE: Circle blend
There will be all sorts of ways of doing this.

First thoughts
New transparent layer.
Make the circle filled with colour.
Add a (white) layer mask
Working in the layer mask,
apply a gradient black to white to fade the disk
add the high-light using a fuzzy brush of suitable size. (a one-click 'dot')

RE: Circle blend
This works but I'm not getting exactly what I want. [Image: 1.png]
The colour is to faint (if that's the word to use). I want it to be brighter and clearer.
Any suggestions?

You can constrain (keep) everything inside a circular selection

top - fg-to-bg (dark blue to light blue) circular gradient with an offset of about 30
middle - new layer, selection filled with the dark blue. Apply filters -> light and shadow -> lighting effects to this one.
bottom - put the top layer into 'overlay mode'
