Changing the color of a house with a new layer.
http://www.samedaygaragedoors.com/garageblank.jpg[

I have an image of a garage door on a white house. I need to generate a layer with a transparent background that when viewed over the original house turns the siding a different color say blue. The idea is that once I generate that layer I can then generate more layers like it to change the colors on the different parts of the house.

Does anyone know what would be the correct process in GIMP to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance...

RE: Changing the color of a house with a new layer.
How about also using the same idea for the home renovation and painting in general.. I have this Victorian type of house, everything is fading including doors, and you can barely recognize it as Victorian house specially from the outside. Thinking such idea, although I kept it in mind that once restored, it may not be the same as what we have 15yrs ago. I like to try new idea like this color layering, so hopefully it will look great. I also have garage door, it is a double slide type, will it look great is I use color layering too?

(edited to remove suspicious link. O.)
