Change background within a photo?
Hi,

I'm new to Gimp and to here and am amazed to find a product like this for free!
I have virtually no experience with editing programs like this and am pretty daunted by the feature set so would really appreciate some help.

I have a portrait picture of someone but I don't like the background and would like to edit it without changing the picture of the person?

Is this possible with Gimp?

How would I do this and is it easy?

Thanks

RE: Change background within a photo?
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying this right now but when I get to the clear or delete stage everything disappears scissor line that I've drawn?
