change background color with black text in foreground?
Hi, Messing around with the mask tool but not sure if this is how it's done. I have a scanned image which is black text on white paper. The paper comes out darker in some section because of scan. Is there a simple way I can make the off-white background white?

Use the Levels tool. Drag the right hand toward the middle (this makes all the gray paler that where the handle is turn to full white). Adjust contrast with the middle handle:
