Change a white background to transparent
I there a simple way to change the white background of a jpg image to transparent?

However I don't know what this means " use Color/Color to alpha with white".
Can you please clarify? Thanks.

In the image menu bar, there is a "Colors" menu, with a "Color to alpha..." item, and if you click on that, you get a very simple dialog where you can choose a color, and that should be white (at least for the image over there). When you talk about "Filters/Render/Pattern/Grid..." all interested parties find the shorthand pretty usefulSmile
