Changable defaults
One of the most annoying features of 2.8 is the grids superimposed over the layer when rotating, scaling, shearing, etc. It's a real pain to have to disable this "feature" for every tool that it effects.

Is there a way to set this (and other defaults) in a config file to make GIMP a little more "me" friendly?

If not, it would be an awesome feature for the next major release.
