Can't export GIF to specs
Hello... I need to create an image to these exact specifications:

542px x 300px at 150 dpi in the GIF format.

I have tried over and over scaling my source (a JPG at 300 dpi) to those exact specifications, but once I export to a GIF, the resulting file is at 72 dpi. I feel like a dummy... Can anyone lend a hand? Better yet, are those specifications even possible?

Thank you!

That's exactly what I'm doing. However, the resulting file is at 72 dpi every time. I don't control the specs, I just know this is what is required. I don't get why it won't export the GIF at the dpi I specify and always goes to 72 dpi. The only thing I can think of is that it's not possible - but the requestor seems to think otherwise.

I've noticed that the resolution in the image scale and print size will always be the same as the other (I change one, the other will change in lockstep).

RE: Can't export GIF to specs
So basically, what you're telling me is dpi in a GIF is meaningless (at least whatever number I'm seeing on the exported file)? I believe you, trust me. I'm just going to submit what I can create, and see what "they" do.

RE: Can't export GIF to specs
According to another forum I found (did a quick search) they said that maybe you can't save a gif in any other bit-depth than 72 dpi

Can you print with btimap or TIFF ? Try those & see if that solves your problem.

But actually, let me ask this... Do you think that regardless of the reported number in the file, the GIF is retaining the dpi of the source?
