bracketed exposures in Gimp
I'm using Gimp 2.8.6.
Try as I might, I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively 'merge' 3 shots of the same scene taken at 3 different exposures (using the exposure bracketing feature on my camera).
The idea is to end up with the equivalent of an HDR image.

I assume that I open the first image and then open the other two as layers . . . thereafter, I seem to be getting in a mess.

Please can someone point me in the right direction.

RE: bracketed exposures in Gimp
There is a 2 photo tutorial here:
http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Blending_Exposures/

You can easily expand the method to 3 photos.

RE: bracketed exposures in Gimp
My suggestion, do not use Gimp, use LuminanceHDR then it will not be the equivalent of an HDR.

RE: bracketed exposures in Gimp
Thanks Blighty . . . looks a bit long winded, but I'll give it a go with my 3 exposure shot.

Does anyone happen to know if there's a plugin or script that will achieve HDR from 3 bracketed exposures (I know there a 'fake HDR' plugin, but it's not really the same).

Thanks

See http://registry.gimp.org/node/6708

(but true HDR is better).

Thanks for the link, I take a look. Cheers
