Blur tool changes the color
Hello. I love this site it has been so helpful so far!

I am working on a photo with a black and white section and a colored section. I have the black and white section highlighted (a rose) and it does successfully blur in GIMP but when I print, the rose has turned out blue and purple. This is basically a grey scale blurring attempt but the result comes out being colored somehow when I print. The thing is, if I open the photo in photoshop or even when I save it as png or jpg it still prints out that distorted color instead of a cleanly blurred black and white rose. The "pixelate" feature works without the color shift but it isn't the look I am going for.

I can blur the original photo fine and it prints fine but I have modified the photo so many times by using so many features that I wouldn't even know where to start with what I did to the photo and why it is coming out like this, blue and purple. I mainly was playing with the saturate, contrast, hue, and similar tools to get the look the way I wanted.

Can anyone provide some guidance here on how to get blur to work without coloring the rose at printout?

Hi and welcome.

Can you attach your .xcf file.
Which OS and Gimp version are you using?

Hello. I can't share the photo because its a trademark and not public at the moment. I began this heavily modified image with a picture of the rose supplied to me by my client. This photo by itself, in raw form, can easily be blurred without issue. But now that it has been played with it won't blur without colorizing itself, always blue and purple even though it is supposed to be in grey scale. What about blurring an image makes it change colors?

I'm on windows 8 with the most recent GIMP.
