Blue Sky Plugin from Software Pantry
Last year I bought a plugin called "Blue Sky" from Software Pantry, an extremely simple way to turn a gray sky blue (with optional cloud effects). The plugin and the Pantry have both disappeared (from Gimp and the Web, respectively). Does anyone know what happened to them (the Pantry) and whether the plugin might still be available somewhere? It's not in the Plugin Registry. What a shame to lose such a really useful tool.

It's not in the Plugin Registry. What a shame to lose such a really useful tool. Since many users have looked at my post with no replies, I'll provide my own follow-up for the interested. The plugin I was looking for was easy to install and use, but, in fact, the available "Blue Sky Gradient" and "Blue Sky & Clouds" from FarcyDesign.com create the same effects in a slightly different manner, but, ultimately, are just as easy to use. As a Gimp newbie I was intimidated by its presentation, but it really isn't difficult to use after all, and it has actually helped me get over a hump in working with layers. So, RIP, the Pantry, but, as I'm sure many realized, there is an alternative. Now, I just have to figure out how to manipulate the settings to get a more realistic sky when there is a lot of it. For smaller background effects, Farcry works well. |
