BIB.dll not found? help please!
This just started happenening yesterday. Was working great, now when I open Gimp 2.6.11, I get an error message saying: This application has failed to start because BIB.dll was not found. Re-installing the app may fix this problem. So I click OK, then I get a message saying: This app failed to start because PLUGIN.dll was not found. Re-installing the app may fix this prob... Then I click OK again. Then it says the same thing again over and over about the PLUGIN.dll. I need to force Gimp to shut down. Any help would be great, I'm lost without my gimp!! Thanks. Also, I am not new to Gimp, Ive used it for years and never seen a problem like this I also have the photoshop to gimp plugin adapter.

Did you install/uninstall anything else recently?

And did you reinstall Gimp?

2.6.12 may require XP SP3.

So did you reinstall 2.6.11?

RE: BIB.dll not found? help please!
A quick search on the web indicates that

bib.dll is part of some adobe product.

...plugin might have gone corrupt due to which you are getting this error . Try to rename bib.dll to bib.old and then try to install Adobe. Navigate to the location c:\windows\system32 search bib.dll, right click and select “rename”....

plugin.dll is probably PS, and I recall this from when I used PS plugins.

....If you have plugin.dll (which is distributed with Adobe products like Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Illustrator etc. and is located in the appropriate installation folder)..

If you need a copy of plugin.dll see http://punkinstuff.tripod.com/ bottom left corner.

Neither are necessary for Gimp to run.

For a reinstall, AFAIK gimp 2.6.12..setup2.exe from here (long sourceforge url so I tinyurled it), installs and works in WinXP SP2 - at least it does here. Otherwise back off a level and get an earlier version.

Ya, it ended up being a problem with the gimp-photoshop plugin. I ended up reinstalling the same version minus the gimp-photoshop plugin. Now all is well. Thanks all
