Batch adding logo to lots of pictures
I've got a lot of pictures to add logo to. The whole thing is fairly the same, pasting the logo and aligning it to the center of the image, reducing opacity to 50% and then saving the logo as JPG. I don't want to do the same thing to hundreds of pictures. Is there any wise way to make it? I've googled, but it looks like requiring a lot of script work and handling which is quite not user-friendly. Is there any user-friendly method within the program GIMP?

oooh! I just got a great idea (mad Gimp scientist ifs007 is on the case!)

You can try making your logo a brush, then just stamp it on the photo where you want it, you can adjust the opacity of the brush in the paint brush tool options.

Heres how!

1.
Open your logo
2.
Use the selection toolRectselect to select the whole image (the background should already be transparent)

3. Edit > Copy
4. Edit > Paste as... > New brush...
- Rename "Brush name" part, click ok
5. Open your image separate from the logo file.

6. Create a new transparent layer, pick brush tool Paintbrush , click where you want it
- Adjust the opacity on the layers window if you need to.

Now for the rest of the photos (open photo, make new transparent layer, pick brush)

BAM, you're done. Now you only need to do 3 clicks about to add your logo to the picture ^_^

If using Windows, or can compile in linux BIMP looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/tZ5dONd.jpg

As pointed out, there are alternatives to Gimp
XnViewMP, http://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/ Windows, Linux, Mac.

Free, but if using for commercial purposes, give the developer a bit of cash.
