Sad Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch "Extended Input Device" Issues
Hello. So I've been searching the web for quite a few hours to find a fix to a problem I(and it seems many others) have been having. That is that my Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch doesn't seem to be recognized as an Extended Input Device. Before I had this I had a very basic Bamboo Pen Tablet, and that worked perfectly well with GIMP. So afterwards I also checked to make sure my Bamboo Fun would work on another program. I tried that and sure enough, it did. So... yeah... After a quick Ramen /Zelda break, I came back with an idea that worked somewhat? I decided to reinstall GIMP(again) plug my Bamboo Pen in start gimp up and bring that up as an extended input device. Check pressure sensitivity. Okay that works. Unplug that and plug in my Bamboo Fun. Check Pressure sensitivity there. Did not do anything different but that didn't surprise me. Went into preferences and clicked configure extended Input Devices. It came up and nothing seemed to have changed from having the bamboo pen. Accept when I clicked on the drop down menu for devices. Below Pressure Stylus was eraser, which wasn't there before, my bamboo pen didn't have one. So I messed with the settings a little bit on that, saved multiple times, closed it out and checked to see if the eraser worked. And it didn't. Both the stylus and eraser still act as if I'm using a mouse. I've closed out of GIMP and can still open the menu for the settings for the stylus and eraser up, but neither of them work. =S But yeah. I just thought that was a bit weird, how it now recognizes it, but still won't work. Hoping someone can help, maybe. =S

RE: Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch "Extended Input Device" Issues
When I was on Windows I had similar issues with my Bamboo. I solved them by running the Wacom utilities once. This seems to be necessary to create some file somewhere that the tablte support in Gimp/GTK uses.

But no promises Smile

Ummmm... yeah that worked. That was a lot simpler than I thought it would be. .__. Anyway... thank you. ^____^
