Automating G'Mic
Hello,

I'm a loooooong time Ubuntu GIMP user, and very rarely have I ever had to seek outside programs to do somethig GIMP couldn't...

But I'm wondering if there is anyway to automate the G'Mic plugin.

I have a massive amount of photos that need XY mirroring.

or does anyone know of a batch program that has mirroring functionality

Thanks for your reply!

Can you give me some more information about
Imagemagick? I looked it up in synaptic and seems to be installed as a dependency of some other program, but I don't know how to use it.

I try to run
imagemagick
in the terminal and I get "no command"

RE: Automating G'Mic
As ofnuts says you can use Gmic in standalone version, Probably easier in 'buntu than me since I think there is a .deb package.

Obviously not the gmic-gimp plugin.

This example using the static compilation running in my home folder.

Mirror - Not a function I have ever used before so I had to look it up. Get the manual, long and often confusing but needed.

Syntax can be a bit weird but you can say the same for IM. Then you would need to incorporate in a bash file.

RE: Automating G'Mic
A strictly Gimp possibility, you could try BIMP

http://registry.gimp.org/node/26259

One of the functions is flip, and you can have both horizontal and vertical enabled together.

Edit: more possibilities all the time....

XnViewMP http://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/ and the nice new web page

version for all platforms, you can set it up to use gimp as an external editor, so a tenuous link there.

Light weight image browser/manager with a batch manipulation facility. Add a mirror x followed by a mirror y, works here.
