Auto-cut scanned photos
Guys

I have a scanned picture and want Gimp to automatically recognize the 3 pictures in a single image file and crop and cut them and save them as separate files. How do I do this?

Thanks

RE: Auto-cut scanned photos
you could try the divide-scanned-images script from

http://registry.gimp.org/node/22177

If using windows, get the deskew plugin as well.

I've used this in the past (in linux) and it works very well.

RE: Auto-cut scanned photos
I tried that script and it seems to do something but doesn't output anything at all in the destination directory I've provided.

Although this batch scan script exists, is there any function I can use for a single image and see if it works? Maybe something's wrong with my image

RE: Auto-cut scanned photos
Ok, I have to confess I have not used this for some time, so I pulled the script from my archive, the deskew plugin is still in place so I must have compiled that in the last year or so. Anyway, same as you, first run and nothing happened. One change of parameter - changing the sample corner - got it working, but yes it seems temperamental.

It is one of RobA's scripts so it might be worth asking in the scripts section for advice. AFAIK no other gimp script/plugin that divides in this way.
