Any simple tutorial for beginner?
hi
I can't actually know what I want to learn about GIMP, but I often feel so frustrated when I want to create some cool logo but Ms paint doesn't help. I 've been trying GIMP for some time but I feel so frustrated, it's not difficult, it's not easy either. I don't need to learn everything in details, but I want a quick solution to let me pick it up. Is there any free (or paid but worth the price) tutorial on the web for beginner ? As I said I don't need the world, I just don't want to stay outside the door of it

Try here (same site, sublink) http://blog.meetthegimp.org/table-of-contents/

- Click a tutorial to see a video/picture combos (the video is usually near the top of the pages of each episode)

Youtube is also always a good source for video tutorials too, there are some really good Gimp youtuber teachers out there!
Just search something about gimp on youtube then watch a short or long video tutorial, I suggest the glass text ones for starters.

It would be nice if you could become a rocket scientist without knowing any physics. Alas not.
The list is just that - a list.

The meet-the-gimp videos go back to 2007 and Gimp 2.4
http://blog.meetthegimp.org/getting-the-old-shows/

These are mainly concerned with photography but are excellent, later episodes I think are a bit long and verbose, but Rolf is a teacher so maybe to be expected. These are not tutorials, it is a video blog on aspects of using Gimp.

A similar request for basic 'tutorials' came up in GimpUsers forum and one reference was
https://fanart.tv/tutorials/gimp-from-scratch-part-1/

Not-my-cup-of-tea, Too long, might be HD video but of a whole desktop so difficult to see, but it is a demo for beginners.

You want to make logo's? As previous post a logo is usually best made as a vector using a vector application.
