Animation
There's this GIF that I'd like to use for a banner and when I open the file in GIMP, add a text and then check the animation in the playback window, I can only see the text once the GIF has ended but also, I can only see the text for like one second.
Is it possible to make the text visible on all of the frames of the GIF without having to duplicate the text 100s of times and merging them onto each frames?

Firstly, there's that GIF -

And then at the end, the text just appears for one frame -

RE: Animation
GIMP should dissasemble any GIF loaded. Each frame gets tossed into a layer and then you just delete the frames you don't want.

But Smurfette? REALLY?! There is something wrong with guys who get into blue chicks...

I've already sorted out the layers, what I want on the banner and everything else,
all I need to do now is make the text visible on all of the frames.
The GIF has about 48 frames so it'd take me a while to duplicate and merge the text layer onto the layers -
I'd like to know a more quicker way to do something like that Confused

I've just installed the Gimp GAP, and I think everything is fine. What shall I do now?
I'm not sure which setting I should click first

Well, I don't use GAP either, but I can offer a tutorial for adding text with Animstack somebody wrote: http://fy-gimp.tumblr.com/post/410381522...pt-on-gifs

I think that the tutorial would be most helpful but the person who created it, is clearly using the 2.8 version of Gimp Sad

I don't think that really did anything

Is there a reason you want to stay on 2.6? Just the fact that 2.8 has layer groups makes it much superior for animation editing purposes.

Whenever I download the 2.8 version, GIMP crashes while it's starting.
It's probably because I have a lot of brushes

Sorry that I'm taking a long time to reply. I've been busy with a couple of other things lately
