all of my paint tools are pale!
As of a week ago all of my paint tools - including eraser - are pale! The opacity is set at 100% but the colors are very light, as is the eraser, which requires repeated erasing to do normal erasing. It's as if the opacity is set at about 25%. I can't figure out what is wrong.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks!

RE: all of my paint tools are pale!
1.Well, one forum suggested checking the opacity also of your brush under "Tool options"
2. I also found a YA post that recommends checking your Image > Mode
and setting it to "RGB"
"Also, try opening a new blank document and see if the brushes work then" -exceprt:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...714AAUfzfz

If the above two fixes don't work, in the meantime...

Perhaps you can attach a sample screenshot(with the windows you have open in gimp/visible)
and/or a small sample .xcf, so we can get a better idea of what the problem looks like.

Additional things to include in your reply that might help us better troubleshoot it:
- Operating system (OS)
-Version of Gimp
-Any settings you changed before the lack of color started happening if you can remember.

Thanks for all your suggestions. My opacity , set at 100%; my image mode RGB; tried my tools on a fresh page; same as before. It was driving me nuts. Finally i checked brush dynamics and saw that the fade length was set at 100%. I turned it down to zero, and it seems to have solved my problems ! What a releif!! Thanks for your help!
PS If i'm replying in the wrong box please let me know. Thnx

Also check that your "Brush dynamics" are set to "Dynamics off"

I wasn't sure what you meant by "Dynamics off" - I thought you meant don't open it, but I finally checked it and saw that Fade Length was set at 100%; i reset it to 0, and everything seems to be OK now.
Thanks!

Ah- HA! I found it by clicking the blue arrow beside the "dynamics" box - with its drop-up box choices! Amazing.
Thanks for clarifying.
