Advice on making my desktop pic
Hello everyone!

I'm new here, and pretty new to GIMP - I've had it for quite a while, but don't really use it much as I'm not really much of an artist - in fact I'm terrible. I basically just use it to add alpha layers for images in my games (I make basic games in Pygame). Anyways, I'm making a desktop wallpaper for myself. I got a matrix background - you know, the green vetical wwriting. Then I got a skull and crossbones image and added alpha to white and copied/pasted the skull onto the matrix writing now all I need to do is colour around the skull with black- it looks really cool. Now I want to write my name underneath it, and I'm just wondering - when I write my name, I'll size it, position it, and then add my alpha channel. Then I'll have to colour around all the letters of my name with black, which is gonna take ages. Is there an easier way to do this?
