Advice for Newbies

As I've said, I'm brand new at this. What advice or helpful tips do you have for a brand new beginning to make the learning process a little easier?

The best thing you already have done, Orrymain... you have an account at GIMP Forums.

Here are some tips I recommend,

• repeat tutorials (written and video)
• participate and ask for help in the forums
• read some good GIMP books
• and most importantly, have fun!

What I would suggest is before looking at any tutorials, mess about the program, get a feel with the tools and get used to gimp. Then after that look at tutorials, there are some pretty good basic tutorials here which will kick start your Gimp experience, so check em out. Good luck
