a *GOOD* GAP Howto?

Hello,

I want to use GAP, but I have wasted a great portion of time searching for a good and explanatory howto which covers all aspects of GAP and why things are done a certain way.

Its as if the programmer doesnt want anyone to use this package. The howto on the gimp official site is IMO not very good. I had to run through it multiple times because its not well written at all and when I finally succeeded I though by myself "okey, so what did I really learn?..." I couldnt find official documentation on GAP and tutorials are all sluggish like videos where the narrator uses a notepad. That doesnt cut it for me.

So anyone can offer me a link to somewhere with a thorough howto for a GAP-beginner?
