a few peices of my work.
My friends and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera one day this summer and we took some pretty good pictures. I chose to take some of them and edit them a few different ways. There are some that I'm not too proud of, but I'm going to show them anyway, along with some of my own critics on them lol.

This one, you can see part of the grass by the stem and it looks a bit meh. Not too proud of it, but if I went back and fixed that it would prolly be fine imo.

This one... I don't remember blurring the rose. =/

This one is okay other then the fact that the rose is kinda choppy where I cut it away at. I should have spent a bit more time getting closer detail.

Now this one is my favorite. It was done with about five different layers.
The subject was one layer which was kept at it's original coloring and style.
The flower in her hair was another layer, which I took the color and intensified it slightly by bringing up the contrast.
The flower pot was a layer which was shifted to b&w and then left alone.
The flowers in the pot were taken and given a slight glow (though it isn't very noticeable because of how I had the layer) and then turned to b&w.
The background was the final layer, which was basically the full picture while copies of each part layered over top of it (that's how I got the slight glow around the subject and focal points). That layer was turned to b&w before getting a Gaussian Blur of 25(I think).
The only thing I don't like about this picture is that, if you look at the back part of the subject's hair, you can see that it is kinda choppy there. =/
