RE: 101 members!
Ouch, what do you mean???

What site are you using to host this? Don't you have unlimited hd space, bandwidth, etc:

RE: 101 members!
ouch! 1m members would hurt and I don't know how many servers we would then be necessary. This "unlimited" thing does not really mean unlimited, and is just an advertising gag. Why write, for example, 10gb disk space and 200gb bandwidth if most users hardly fully-utilize those numbers. If a site becomes really resource hungry the host will ask to upgrade. Check the TOS of your web host, I believe, it's mentioned there.

RE: 101 members!
Some are an advertising gag, while some aren't, it depends on where you go, I originally thought that until my homie Tex showed me his site. (about 2tb of files are on his site's hd as of right now, and he used to get 1,000 people visiting each day in 2008, until the site kinda died)

RE: 101 members!
Nice achievement. We here at GIMP Forums currently average 100 unique visitors per day, which is also a nice number. Smile

Last year in December, I moved the forum back to HostGator's shared hosting and for now canceled my VPS account as I hope that now for some time the shared will be good enough. Just wondering if you have noticed any difference during last two months?

RE: 101 members!
I haven't noticed a difference, but my friend Josh hosted one of his old sites using 3ix which is pretty cheap, but he was an idiot, and wanted to compete against imageshack, but having users upload any file they want, and lets just say it didn't last that long, did get a lot of traffic, but he had to delete files, and people weren't pleased.

RE: 101 members!
Big Grin funny how you said the part where competing against imageshack

Nice to find the shared hosting is good enough for now. However, to me it feels a bit sluggish sometimes, making a hiccup here and there. Not sure if it's the host or my connection. Anyway, there is a move back to VPS in my plans in coming months.
