I want to develop a plugin for myself in GIMP, however if useful eventually I would like to release as open source. I do not have the time or the experience to do so. I want to hire someone to set up a demonstrable template using some OpenCV functions.

If you are interested send an email to and I will send you the requirements to discuss. Feel free to ask any questions here or email.

Kind regards,

- who owns the final code?
- who decides if it goes open source?
- how much work do you think there is (person-week)?
- how much do you pay?

Thanks for your reply; all your questions are negotiable.

- who owns the final code? I want to use the code for what I like with no restrictions. For a cheaper rate so can the programmer.

- who decides if it goes open source? Same logic as above if I get a cheaper rate then this can be guaranteed Smile

- how much work do you think there is (person-week)? As a guess from someone who has done this before less than 4 hours.

- how much do you pay? Do not expect a lot, this is more of a gesture of appreciation for your help.

I want to plugin to act as a filter does in GIMP, when selected with the region I would then like to call this filter:

//conversion from the GIMP image to Mat type, how to iterate through the selected region?
//contours, this is what I can do
//draw contours, I can also do this
//also save points to a text file, I can assist here but might need some help
//convert from Mat type to GIMP image to display, how to iterate through the selected region

Anything else required to assist with the GUI; just like a filter.

Just a few notes:
This is just a test to see how this tool operates, I use GIMPS filters a lot to analyse images using threshold, histograms, dilates and erodes. However it would be nice to apply contours as well. If this works as well as I hope then I hope to release this as open source to assist teaching computer vision in a much friendly environment rather than MATLAB or OpenCV. Once it is at this stage hopefully others can assist in transferring functions from OpenCV. However if I do not feel it is useful then I would not worry.

Any questions feel free to ask, any help is appreciated.
